Lucas is set to join incoming Jaguars defensive coordinator Joe Cullen. According to a report from The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, the Jaguars are set to hire yet another Baltimore Ravens defensive assistant.
This time, according to Zrebiec, the Jaguars will be hiring Ravens assistant defensive line coach Sterling Lucas. The Jaguars are also expected to hire Baltimore’s defensive line coach Joe Cullen to replace Todd Wash as the team’s defensive coordinator.
It is not yet clear what role Lucas will have with the Jaguars’ staff, though it can be assumed he will work closely with Cullen as he has done in the past on the defensive side of the football.

Matt Miller over at TheDraftScout.com isn’t mincing words about Trevor Lawrence — he thinks he’s an elite prospect possessing all the tools of a franchise quarterback.
The only question: Will the Jacksonville Jaguars pull the trigger on making the him the No. 1 overall draft pick in the 2021 NFL Draft?
Miller seems to think so on his latest scouting report for Lawrence:
Strengths: Lawrence is an elite prospect possessing all the tools of a franchise quarterback with high-end potential to become one of the NFL’s best passers. He’s physically gifted with a 6’6” frame that could add more bulk and weight as time passes. He’s athletic enough to be a threat on designed runs and when the pocket breaks down; showing mobility that makes him a creator on the move. Lawrence has enough arm strength to press defenses and reach every area of the field with his arm.
Weaknesses: 2019 tape showed issues with ball placement outside the hashes. Can get Collapse

After hiring its head coach, the Jaguars have locked in on an in-house hire for its general manager role. The Jacksonville Jaguars made the splash of the offseason after announcing that former Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer would become the 6th head coach in franchise history.
This news came just a couple of weeks after the team moved on from fourth-year head coach Doug Marrone.
While the team filled its head coaching position, the general manager role had yet to be solidified. Upon firing Dave Caldwell in late November last year, the Jaguars named Director of Player Personnel Trent Baalke the team’s interim general manager. Today, they will reportedly make that move permanent, making Baalke the team’s new GM to go along with Meyer, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

As the Jacksonville Jaguars continue to fill out their coaching staff under new head coach Urban Meyer, much of the names and focus has been on the defensive side of the ball. While there has been some reports of Scott Linehan being in line for the offensive coordinator position, Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated notes that former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Anthony Lynn is also someone who could be in consideration.
On offense, I know Scott Linehan’s name has been floated out there. I’d keep an eye on ex-Chargers coach Anthony Lynn, too. And the idea of Colorado State coach Steve Adazzio coming on as offensive line coach has been discussed. Things have been rocky at CSU for Addazio, but I’m not sure if he’d leave. Adazzio was Meyer’s line coach, assistant head coach, and, eventually, offensive coordinator at Florida.

4 DAYS AGO - Mike Watters-USA TODAY Sports
The Jacksonville Jaguars had a miserable campaign in 2020, finishing the season with the worst record in the NFL at 1-15. However, one clear bright spot was undrafted rookie running back James Robinson.
In just 14 games, Robinson rushed for 1,070 yards, which ranked fifth in the league, and averaged 4.5 yards per carry. Robinson also added 344 receiving yards, and set a new NFL record for yards from scrimmage from an undrafted rookie with 1,414. He averaged 101 yards from scrimmager per game. Robinson also had 10 total touchdowns (seven rushing scores and three receiving scores).
Robinson’s performance this year did not go unnoticed, as the Pro Football Writers of America included him on its All-Rookie Team for the 2020 season.

As newly hired Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer continues to build his staff, one of the bigger questions is which, if any, of the current coaches from the Doug Marrone regime Meyer would retain. It appears we now have our first answer to that, as Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports reports that Meyer is expected to bring back offensive line coach George Warhop.

Warhop has spent the past two season with the Jaguars, after being hired by Marrone in 2019. In 2020, the Jaguars ranked 11th in the NFL with 4.5 rushing yards per carry, but ranked 29th in rushing yards per game (94.9), due to a league low 337 rushing attempts. The low rushing attempts and yardage totals had a lot to do with the team playing from behind more often than not this past season.
